MIAMI, FL (September 3, 2025) – Give Miami Day, one of the nation’s largest giving events, returns Thursday, November 20, 2025, for its 14th year. Powered by The Miami Foundation, Give Miami Day invites the entire community to financially support more than 1,000 local nonprofits, fueling solutions for Greater Miami’s most pressing challenges.
New this year, the celebration (and giving!) kicks off with The Give Miami 5K and Community Festival on Sunday, November 16, at Maurice A. Ferre Park in downtown Miami. With the race being called the Miles That Matter, participants can “run for the cause they care about,” with 100% of their race registration fee directed to the issue area or nonprofit organization of their choice. This is also a unique opportunity for nonprofit organizations because they now can offer their supporters a new, experiential way to get involved in Give Miami Day beyond donating online.
After the race, a free post-race festival welcomes all of Greater Miami for a celebration of generosity. Festival attendees of all ages will enjoy interactive and engaging opportunities to learn more about local nonprofits and the importance of giving on Give Miami Day to strengthen our community. The Festival will feature performances, prizes, issue-area discovery zones, family-friendly activities, food vendors, and a 305-meter Kids’ Dash. And the best part is, attendees will be able to donate to causes and nonprofits right on-site!
Registration for the Give Miami 5K opened on August 28, 2025, and an early bird registration rate of $45 is available until October 10, 2025. To sign up for the race, visit Give Miami 5K Registration.
“Give Miami Day isn’t just a fundraiser, it’s a celebration of mass generosity,” said Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, President and CEO of The Miami Foundation. “It’s about building something transformational that will last in Miami far beyond the event. When thousands give together, even small contributions create a lasting impact.”
This year, Give Miami Day’s early giving period will begin one day earlier than usual, running from Saturday, November 15, until November 19, 2025.
Since its launch in 2012, Give Miami Day has raised over $130 million for 1,000+ nonprofits across Greater Miami. In 2024 alone, the event brought in nearly $40 million from over 100,000 donations — a 16% increase in funds and 13% growth in donors over the previous year. Most gifts are under $100, proving that collective giving drives transformative change.
“Because of the generous donations we received during Give Miami Day 2024, Sprout Up was able to launch the Greener Together Community Garden at Touching Miami with Love’s West Homestead campus,” said Natalie Rowe, Executive Director of Sprout Up. Her organization is committed to responding to food scarcity in underserved communities.
“This garden has quickly become more than just a place to grow food—it’s a space where community grows too. With the raised beds garden provides fresh produce for families facing food insecurity in Homestead and Florida City, but the impact goes deeper. Local youth now participate in hands-on gardening sessions paired with social-emotional learning and mental wellness activities. For many, it’s their first time planting a seed or tasting something they helped grow… Thanks to Give Miami Day, we’ve planted more than just vegetables—we’ve planted hope, confidence, and connection in a community that needs it most.”
This year’s event comes at a critical time. With significant public funding cuts, local nonprofits — especially those addressing racial equity, immigration, housing, and education — face growing demand with fewer resources. Give Miami Day empowers everyone who lives in and loves Miami to respond with 100% flexible, unrestricted contributions that go directly to nonprofits.
Beyond driving donations, The Miami Foundation supports nonprofits participating in Give Miami Day with training, networking, and opportunities for the donations they receive to be matched – ensuring nonprofits organizations can continue doing their vital work for our community in the year ahead.
Whether you give $25 or $1,000, run a mile or cheer from the sidelines — everyone has a role to play in shaping the future of Miami.
