As Content Writer, Samantha focuses on written and video storytelling for our foundation through content creation. She spearheads our social media outreach and spotlights to help our community deeply understand the stories of our nonprofits, grantees, and fundholders. From reels and photography to short- and long-form visual content, her goals will continue to be to creatively highlight our initiatives. Samantha also helps guide and prepare our team for public speaking opportunities.
She has always been a storyteller at heart. From being a journalist in the Florida swamp to a bureau reporter in the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky mountains, Samantha loves listening to her community and amplifying their voices.
Her time as a journalist included reporting for WUFT News television and radio platforms, anchoring the live PBS-affiliate newscast, writing for The Gainesville Sun newspaper and co-executively producing “The Lede,” which is a newscast formed solely for the social media screen. Most recently, she was a multimedia journalist for two years with Spectrum News 1 in Asheville.
Her passion for telling stories that provide insight to issues of interest led her here, to The Miami Foundation, where she can share new stories each day about those who work hard to spark incredible change in Miami- the community she grew up in!
