Legacy Giving

A charitable bequest to The Miami Foundation through your will or revocable trust is a flexible way to create a long lasting legacy in our community. Your will or trust gives you peace of mind knowing your loved ones are taken care of, your assets are distributed accurately, and your gift reflects your values.

By including a bequest to a fund held at the Miami Foundation in your estate plan, you ensure you’re leaving a lasting impact reflective of you.

Benefits to Leaving a Lasting Legacy

  • You retain control of your assets throughout your lifetime.
  • You main flexibility with the ability to modify your bequest as your circumstances change.
  • You can customize how to make your gift by specifying:
    • The fund that will receive the funds
      • Will it be endowed
      • Will it be designated
      • Will it be a field of interested
    • A specific dollar amount,
    • A particular asset (such as stock or real estate) or
    • Name the Foundation as a remainder/residual beneficiary of your estate by leaving a percentage of whatever remains of your estate after all specific bequests are paid.

Sample Bequest Language

Below is suggested language to use when working with your attorney to draft your bequest to the Miami Foundation.
