Alex Santana serves as the Assistant to the President and CEO of The Miami Foundation. In this role he supports the CEO and Executive Team with relationship building, communications, and time management. Some of his responsibilities include managing the CEO’s calendar, responding to meeting requests, drafting correspondence and briefing materials, and engaging with the Board of Trustees and external partners.
Alex joins The Miami Foundation after acquiring significant public sector experience in South Florida, Tallahassee, FL, and Washington, D.C. He has worked for the state of Florida in various capacities, at one of Tallahassee’s premier political lobbying firms, and in the Office of the President at Miami Dade College. While pursuing his undergraduate studies in our nation’s capital, Alex completed internships for multiple members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, at the U.S. Department of Justice, and at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and politics from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and a Master of Science in Applied American Politics and Policy from Florida State University. He was born and raised in Miami and is passionate about supporting this special community he is proud to call home.
