Camila Gil is the Executive Director of Armour Dance Theatre and a passionate advocate for arts education. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, she is a proud alumna of the organization and holds a Master’s degree in Global Governance from Florida International University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science from the University of Miami.
Ms. Gil’s journey with Armour Dance Theatre began at the age of 13 when she trained under the artistic leadership of Ruth Wiesen. Though she no longer dances, Camila experienced firsthand the transformative power of dance education and remains deeply committed to its importance. During her high school years, she became a dedicated volunteer for for the organization, and upon graduation, she joined the staff as a Student Assistant. Over nearly two decades, Camila has contributed to Armour Dance Theatre’s growth and impact, taking on roles such as Executive Assistant, Director of Community Programs, and, most recently, Associate Director before stepping into her current leadership position.
A passionate leader, Ms. Gil has played a pivotal role in expanding the organization’s scope and making high-quality arts education accessible to children across Miami-Dade County. Beyond her work at Armour Dance Theatre, Camila is a participant in the Emerging Arts Leaders program through the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, where she collaborates with other cultural professionals to strengthen the arts community.
