Ana Peralta Chammas

Ana Peralta Chammas

Advisory Council Member Member
Office Of The Miami-Dade County

With an eye for innovation and strategic vision, Ana Chammas has helped advance tech strategy and digital transformation that drive the customer experience in Miami-Dade. By inspiring a movement of innovation and culture change, she has the vision for what a FutureReady government needs to make a community impact. With over 20 years in the field, Ana bridges gaps between creative and development teams, business users, and C-level executives to effectuate action and deliver innovative solutions. Her experience includes directing the functions and programs related to the County’s information channels (miamidade.gov, 311 Answer Center, and Miami-Dade Television) as well as the development of civic and digital engagement strategies. Ana has cultivated long-standing relationships with public and private partners tackling a municipal-wide open data platform, building a cross-municipal strategic alliance as well as the County Innovation Program.

Most recently, Ana has been working within the Office of the CIO to build programs aligned with the executive strategic agenda under Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. These initiatives will further change government culture and are focused on central priority tenets that will drive the Economy, protect the Environment, enable Engagement within the community, and ensure Equity and inclusive opportunities. As the Director of Innovation in the County, Ana is working to create intersections across verticals in the industry partnering with academic institutions to build the foundational learning and experiential opportunities to expand our local talent pipelines. She is also focused on scaling business solutions and innovation, driving inclusive Smart City tech, and working tirelessly to disrupt the status quo in government.

Ana is also a long-standing member of the FIU Kopenhaver Center Leadership Council in CARTA’s Innovation Labs + Incubators. In this role, she has contributed valuable input in modernizing student curriculum and directly mentoring graduate students fighting to find a place in the Digital and Communications space in the private sector. In addition, she provides similar meaningful input in the Miami Tech Talent Coalition, Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce, and Beacon Council committees.

Ana is passionate about community engagement and philanthropic causes providing outreach support for Pediatric and Breast Cancer, Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimer’s Association, and expanding government reach in the Miami Tech movement with opportunities such as eMerge Americas, Miami Tech Month, and local hack events. It is with bold tenacity and a passion for making a community impact that she leaves an imprint as she moves full speed ahead as a driver in the digital renaissance journey that we are experiencing today.
