During Ms. Sakariyawo’s 15-years teaching career, she has served low-income students on free and or reduced lunch in Title one schools. Anike appreciates individuality, and strive to meet the needs of each student. To accomplish this, she uses a variety of hands-on (manipulatives) activities and differentiated teaching strategies to accommodate diverse (multiple intelligence) learning styles. Anike interest in the classroom has grown out of recent experiences teaching science lab classes. In these settings, students used computers for writing, data input/output, monitoring data, communicating with one another and herself; conducting research, web research, producing new and improve products using the engineering cycle; and how to become critical thinkers, innovators, and problem solvers.
She is the Founder of S.E.E.K Foundation, Inc., (Seeking Education Empowers Knowledge). A mobile organization with 3 pillars, which are: STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Health and Fitness, and Community Involvement. S.E.E.K Foundation, is an award-winning nonprofit from BEYA STEM Award, Dwayne Wade, Leaders Recognizing Leaders, with appearances on Good Day LA, California Live, Channel 10 Local News, NBC6 in the Mix, and many more awards and recognition. Currently, S.E.E.K Foundation, Inc., provides equal access to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEM/STEAM) programs by bridging the disparity gap prevalent in the lives of children of color. SEEK provides services to other schools and other organizations in Miami Dade, Broward County, and Atlanta, Georgia. S.E.E.K teaches children how to create items using materials around the house, how to code and program robots, how to calculate and how to use physics concepts and calculations; how to write a claim-evidence-reasoning researched based lab report; and how to use the engineering cycle to improve a product. As of today, S.E.E.K Foundation has impacted over 15,000 lives and will continue to strive to advance our youth because great innovative leaders are among us! All they need is access to resources and opportunity!
