Denise emigrated with her family from Buenos Aires to Aventura at 11 years old. After graduating from the University of Florida with a double major in Political Science and Public Relations and a minor in French, Landman worked in public affairs in the transportation and infrastructure industry, working on major projects such as the 95 Express Lanes, the Miami Intermodal Center & Car Rental Facility at Miami International Airport, Tri-Rail Coastal Link and the Port of Miami Tunnel.
She joined Miami-Dade County Public Schools in 2014 as Director of Public and Media Relations, eventually rising to oversee the Strategic Educational Marketing department, the Translation Services team, and the Citizen Information Center in the Office of Communications and Community Engagement.
Landman is an active member of her community, having served two terms as an Aventura City Commissioner. She’s also participated in the HOPE (Hispanas Organized for Political Equity) Binational Fellowship, an executive leadership program for outstanding Latina professionals, and was a member of Class V of the Good Government Initiative in 2015, a program designed to provide leadership development and education for elected officials. She’s also participated in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Leadership Miami Program and has been actively involved with the Aventura Marketing Council, the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
She loves traveling and meeting new people and counts her proudest accomplishments to date as her two daughters, Emma and Susi.
