Rosemary Carrera is a Miami native and a proud first-generation American. She began her career as a Low Vision Optometrist, where she worked with Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, partnered with the local chapter of the Special Olympics, and owned her own practice, Suarez Optical.
Rosemary’s life took a transformative turn when, at the age of 40, she was diagnosed with breast cancer following her first screening mammogram, despite having no prior symptoms. Her journey through cancer treatment included a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, hysterectomy, radiation, reconstruction, and an explant procedure.
This deeply personal experience inspired her to found 305 Pink Pack in 2019, an organization dedicated to removing barriers that women face during cancer treatment. Since its inception, 305 Pink Pack has provided vital assistance to more than 375 women in Miami-Dade County, offering support with transportation, childcare, grocery assistance, and more.
As the Founder and Executive Director, Rosemary has been a tireless advocate for women undergoing cancer treatment, particularly within the Spanish-speaking community, ensuring that education and support are accessible to all. Through her leadership, 305 Pink Pack continues to expand its mission, addressing the often-overlooked logistical challenges that impact treatment and recovery.
