Our 9th annual State of Black Philanthropy focused on building strong Black futures. Together at the sold-out Little Haiti Cultural Complex, we celebrated the legacies of three outstanding Black leaders, we dug into the data of our 2nd annual State of Black Philanthropy Report, and we announced the Saltwater Fellowship. State of Black Philanthropy Report
We presented the second edition of our State of Black Philanthropy report. We dug deep into national and local data to explore the nuanced intersection of opportunity and oppression that shapes Black entrepreneurship, Black birthing experiences, and Black-led nonprofits.
We hope you will share these insights and join us in our commitment to making informed investments in the Black community.
The Saltwater Fellowship
We announced our first annual Saltwater Fellowship – a new initiative that invests boldly in leaders who are moving the needle on the most pressing issues facing Greater Miami. Designed by leveraging data and insights about our community’s needs, this inaugural fellowship is inspired by our urgency to address the racial inequity we see in our community data. The Saltwater Fellowship is a 12-month fellowship, combined with a two-year unrestricted grant totaling $100,000, to propel the work of brilliant leaders.
Nominations for the Saltwater Fellowship are open until March 21.

Since 2020, we have allocated over $2 million to support nonprofits led by Black individuals dedicated to addressing inequalities and empowering Black communities.
